Designed by Belgian designer Dirk Wynants for Extremis, the Arthur Dining Table is a celebrated work of contemporary outdoor furniture that seamlessly blends sculptural form with exceptional functionality. Inspired by the legend of King Arthur’s Round Table, Arthur was conceived to foster togetherness, equality, and conversation. Its signature circular form incorporates an integrally connected center turntable that rotates a full 360 degrees, encouraging shared dining by giving every guest equal access to the center of the table.

Crafted in Belgium, the Arthur features a 78.75-inch (200 cm) diameter tabletop constructed of high-pressure resin with a crisp white surface and contrasting black edge, supported by a sculptural powder-coated steel pedestal base. Weighing approximately 295 lbs (134 kg), it was engineered for exceptional stability and durability in both luxury residential and commercial environments. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, the Arthur has since been discontinued, making it increasingly difficult to source.

Included with this table is the original matching Extremis InUmbra 350 umbrella, designed specifically for the Arthur table. Measuring 11.5 ft (350 cm) in diameter, the octagonal umbrella features Valmex® Airtex® fabric with an acrylic Teflon coating developed for the marine industry, a corrosion-resistant stainless steel frame, a smooth crank-operated opening and closing mechanism, and its original 100% cotton storage sleeve. Also included is the original Extremis InUmbra umbrella connector for the Arthur table, allowing the umbrella to mount through the center of the table exactly as originally intended by Extremis.

Originally purchased through JANUS et Cie’s flagship showroom at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California, in 2012 for a private residence, this offering includes the original JANUS et Cie sales order documenting the Arthur Dining Table, InUmbra umbrella, and factory umbrella connector as originally specified.

Condition

Very good vintage condition. Light cosmetic wear consistent with age and outdoor use, including minor surface marks and edge wear. Structurally excellent, stable, and fully functional with its original finish. Please review all photographs, as they form part of the description.
