Accompanied by companion dogs two small terriers resting on a tiled floor in a traditional stable.
This painting was salvaged by ourselves from the 14th century Elizabethan mansion Knowlton Court. Family home of the Fox-Pitt family, a prominent British equestrian family that includes the renowned Olympic eventing medalist William Fox-Pitt.
Whilst unsigned the painting was attributed to James Loder of Bath a celebrated 19th century British animal portraitist closely associated with the English Sporting Art movement. Although we stress we can not confirm this as the painting has no visible signature.
The painting comes in original unrestored condition, please look closely at the pictures to get a better idea.
