Distinctive design features:
Material: The table is crafted from high-quality exotic rosewood veneer, finished to a high gloss (French polish).
Shape: A massive, architectural base with Leleu's signature arched cutouts and a solid crossbar.
Details: The subtle embellishments at the bases of the legs are striking, a hallmark of the luxurious furniture from his workshop.
Maison Leleu was a family-owned design firm founded in Paris that defined French luxury in the 1920s and 1930s. Their furniture adorned the liner Normandie and numerous embassies and residences. The table shown in the photo is most likely a dining table from around 1930–1940.
Construction: Leleu's signature "bridge" legs are characteristic, connected by a central rail, providing stability while maintaining an elegant silhouette.
