Originally positioned above an entryway threshold or private temple shrine to usher in auspicious energy, this sculptural piece features an intricate, deeply undercut figurative relief narrative.

At the center, framed beneath a classical arched Prabhavali, sits Goddess Lakshmi flanked by standing attendants. The composition expands outward into deeply sculpted Mayuras (peacocks) displaying stylized, scrolling plumage, framed within a crisp, hand-carved geometric rosette border. The reverse reveals original hand-hewn adze tool marks, evidencing its traditional artisan construction.

Part of a private estate collection originally acquired post-WW2 during travels across Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
