This petite chair was part of the inventory from a former antique store and has been in the same ownership for many years. The exact maker and age are unknown, so it is conservatively described as vintage Louis XVI style.

The chair was reupholstered years ago in a soft floral fabric in muted rose, green and cream. The rounded seat is fully upholstered and finished, and the chair also includes a coordinating removable boxed cushion. Without the cushion, the chair retains the especially low profile traditionally associated with a slipper or chauffeuse chair; with the cushion, the seat height is a more comfortable 16 inches.

Details include an upholstered oval medallion back, carved rosette corner blocks, fluted tapered legs, a rounded upholstered seat, and finished upholstery on both the front and back of the chair.
