Text In French
Covers the creation of Serge Diaghilev's traveling dance group, Ballets Russes, and their establishment of Monaco as their base in 1911. Further explores the establishment of the new Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in 1932, which formed after Diaghilev's death and was meant to revitalize Russian dance and bring joy through their touring shows. Also covers how the Ballet de Monte Carlo helped shape modern classical dance and costume design.
