the lamp combines a compact sculptural body in olive green glazed ceramic with a contrasting white painted metal hemisphere positioned around the light source. Its simple geometry gives the object a distinctly space age character while retaining the tactile material quality associated with italian ceramic production.

the white hemisphere can be rotated to expose or partially conceal the bulb, changing both the direction and intensity of the illumination. With the light more exposed, the lamp provides a brighter direct glow; as the screen moves across the opening, the illumination becomes softer and more atmospheric.

this interactive approach reflects the experimentation with adjustable and eclipsed light found throughout italian lighting design of the period. In the bi-elle lamp, however, the concept is interpreted through ceramic rather than the plastics and metals more commonly associated with space age lighting, giving the piece an especially distinctive presence.

the original ceramica d’arte bi-elle label remains present. The lamp also retains its original vintage wiring and inline switch.

it is exceptionally preserved in excellent vintage condition, showing only minimal signs consistent with age.
