This is a lovely subject, expertly rendered and suffused with bright colors and the energy of the surf-- so much so that one can almost feel the ocean breeze. Signed by the artist, H. Francis of which nothing is known. The painting is further enhanced by an elaborate carved gold leaf frame with deep relief foliate carvings and a beaded border; the frame's antiqued finish is rubbed through to reveal traces of blue, which tie-in nicely with the blues in this beach scene. An inner linen weave matt completes the framed presentation. The overall size of this painting is 46" wide x 38" high x 3" deep. See less
