Original Danish Apotheker pendant lamp, designed by Sidse Werner for the renowned Holmegaard glassworks.
The design dates from 1981 and is a distinctive example of early 1980s Danish design.
The lamp is made entirely of thick, milky-white opaline glass. Its monumental, almost architectural form combines a wide, softly profiled shade with a tall decorative neck finished with characteristic concentric rings.
The opaline glass beautifully diffuses the light – when illuminated, the lamp not only casts light downwards but also creates a soft glow throughout the entire glass body.
Retains its original Holmegaard of Copenhagen label: “By Appointment to The Royal Danish Court – Made in Denmark.”
Excellent condition. The glass is exceptionally well preserved, with no damage, cracks or chips.
