The piece impresses with its captivating interplay of fine woods: the body is finished in dark sapele mahogany, while the fronts are crafted from lighter ash. This vibrant contrast lends the two-part cabinet remarkable depth and elegance. A subtle design highlight is the curved solid wood handles, each precisely positioned on the upper edge of each drop-down compartment. The layout features an exceptional spatial concept. The lower section visually resembles a classic chest of drawers, but conceals two spacious drop-down compartments, one above the other, which open outwards and offer ample storage space. Above this base sits the slightly recessed and shallower upper section. Directly above the chest of drawers is an open shelf, ideal for storing keys, bowls, or decorative items. Above this are two more drop-down compartments in the stylish design of the base, before a glass-fronted display case provides the crowning touch. This glazed area offers the perfect display space for fine wine glasses, novels, or cherished mementos. The cabinet is in very good, restored condition.
