It is crafted from beautiful precious woods, walnut and lemonwood, and features luxurious marquetry on the exterior tabletop. The design depicts a chessboard framed by two cartouches, each featuring a rhomboid-shaped figure, creating a scene of striking visual and geometric aesthetic.
This tabletop, originally reversible but now fixed to serve as a desk by hinges that can be easily removed, features a mirror where a playing mat for cards and dice was once located.
The interior contains the space dedicated to backgammon, with perforated sides to hold the game pieces.
