Produced by Camille Tharaud in Limoges, France, the finely modeled busts are executed in matte white biscuit porcelain and rest on deep cobalt blue glazed porcelain pedestals highlighted with delicate gilt decoration.
Alexandre is portrayed wearing a jacket with a softly smiling expression, while Louise is depicted with bare shoulders and her hair elegantly gathered. Their subtly turned heads create a particularly harmonious composition when displayed together.
Both pieces bear the Tharaud Limoges France mark underneath.
