This substantial vintage pencil sharpener features a robust brown-painted metal body, large hand-operated crank, exposed mechanical gearing, twin guide rods and an adjustable pencil holder. The mechanism is mounted on an original solid wooden base. The large crank operates the internal gear system and sharpening mechanism, demonstrating the sophisticated mechanical construction characteristic of high-quality vintage office equipment. The body bears the distinctive s&b / sellier & bellot marking together with the number 29270.
