Measuring an impressive 60 × 36 inches on canvas and approximately 65 × 40.5 inches framed, Savory Club is a commanding example of Hohimer's distinctive figurative oeuvre, exploring the glamorous, theatrical world of nightlife, jazz culture and social interaction that became central to his work.

Hohimer constructs the scene through expressive contour, saturated color and richly worked passages of oil paint, transforming the club environment into something simultaneously narrative and atmospheric. Rather than simply documenting nightlife, Hohimer captures its personalities, intimacy, movement and theatricality—a quality that gives his best figurative paintings their unmistakable character.

Very good vintage condition.
The original oil on canvas retains vibrant color, excellent surface texture, and presents beautifully. Examination of the reverse shows the canvas to be original with no visible patches, relining, or restoration observed. Minor impressions visible from the reverse correspond to the artist's textured brushwork on the painted surface and are not noticeable from the front.
The original gallery frame exhibits expected age-related cosmetic wear, including scattered finish loss and scuffing consistent with decades of display. Professionally wired and ready to hang. See less
