Colorful original watercolor painting depicting an elegant Venetian Carnival scene in Piazza San Marco, with two costumed and masked figures posed before the distinctive domes and arches of St. Mark’s Basilica. Beautifully detailed throughout, with rich shades of magenta, lavender, blue and gold and a wonderful theatrical quality characteristic of Venice’s historic masquerade tradition.
Signed in the lower left. Presented under glass with layered burgundy and lavender matting in a richly textured dark bronze-brown frame that complements the dramatic palette beautifully.
