A charming set of three 19th-century French opaline glass pieces featuring classical Greco-Roman portrait decoration. The collection includes one Grand Tour-style decanter and a pair of slender soliflore vases, all united by creamy white opaline glass, hand-painted portrait medallions, warm orange-red accents, and gilded detailing.
The decanter features a bulbous body and elongated neck with classical portrait medallions decorating opposing sides. The underside is marked “Made in France.” The coordinating pair of petite soliflore, or single-flower, vases features Greco-Roman soldier portraits framed by geometric and orange-toned banding.
A wonderfully decorative grouping with a distinctly French Neoclassical sensibility. Display the three together on a bar, mantel, bookshelf, or collected tabletop, or use the smaller vessels for single stems.
