Grand Vintage Brass & Bronze Urn Table Lamp with White Linen Drum Shade
Commanding in scale and beautifully architectural, this substantial vintage urn-form table lamp combines classical proportions with the rich character of naturally aged metal. Its unusually generous scale gives it the presence of a true statement lamp—equally suited to a large console, substantial nightstand, library table, entryway, or designer living space.
The lamp is centered around an impressive 15-inch-wide rounded urn body. Rather than a simple spherical form, the body has a carefully articulated silhouette: a broad domed upper section curves outward from the shoulder, meeting a shallower rounded lower section at the lamp’s equator. A narrow contrasting brass-toned metal band encircles the center, visually dividing the two sections and emphasizing the generous proportions of the urn.
Above the main body is one of the lamp’s most distinctive architectural details. The broad shoulder rises into a sculpted waisted collar, narrowing dramatically through the center before flaring outward again toward a raised molded rim. Above this sits a shallow domed cap and the tall cylindrical neck supporting the socket and harp. This layered construction gives the lamp considerably more visual interest than a conventional globe or ginger-jar form.
The urn rests upon an equally substantial pedestal. A narrow transition beneath the body leads into a deeply waisted pedestal stem, followed by a series of rounded and stepped moldings terminating in a broad 9-inch-diameter circular base. The substantial footing visually anchors the large body and gives the lamp its stately, architectural stance.
The metal surface is particularly attractive. Rather than a uniform polished finish, it displays a wonderfully variegated aged brass and bronze-toned patina, with deep brown and charcoal areas, warmer bronze coloration, muted golden undertones, subtle oxidation, and areas of brighter brass highlighting the raised moldings and central band. These natural variations give the lamp the depth and character expected of a substantial vintage decorative object.
The lamp retains its traditional harp and is finished with an especially handsome tall, narrow decorative metal finial. The finial has a slender turned profile with a small rounded top and multiple sculpted baluster-like sections, adding another vertical architectural element above the shade.
The socket is operated by a three-way rotary switch located directly on the light socket. There is no pull chain or pull cord.

The lamp is shown with a generously scaled white linen drum shade, selected to balance the unusually broad urn body without overwhelming its architectural detailing.

The brass and bronze-toned metal retains a rich, naturally variegated patina, including areas of deeper brown and bronze coloration, muted golden highlights, subtle oxidation, surface variation, and light wear consistent with age and use. The variations in the metal finish are considered an important part of the lamp’s character and have intentionally been preserved rather than polished away. Raised moldings, the central brass-toned band, and other architectural details display attractive tonal contrast. The substantial 15-inch-wide urn body, sculpted upper collar, pedestal and stepped 9-inch base present well, with no major structural damage observed. Minor surface marks, spotting, oxidation, and finish irregularities may be present and are consistent with the lamp’s vintage nature. The lamp is fitted with a three-way rotary socket switch and traditional harp.
