A luminous Nantucket landscape by contemporary Massachusetts artist Kevin J. Shea, depicting the island’s gently rolling meadows beneath a soft rose-hued sky. Painted with loose, expressive brushwork, Shea layers warm ochres, muted greens, lavender blues, and touches of russet across the landscape, while a winding sandy path draws the eye through the fields toward the distant horizon. The intimate scale and atmospheric palette capture the quiet, pastoral character of Nantucket beyond its coastline.
Signed lower right “Kevin J. Shea” and inscribed verso “Island Meadows / Painted on Nantucket Island / 1993 / © Kevin J Shea.” Retains its original label from The Gallery at Four India Street, Nantucket, Massachusetts, as well as a Kevin John Shea artist label. Presented in a substantial gilt frame with foliate corner ornament.
