The sculpture features a warm hammered copper central panel surrounded by radiating slender metal rods, with numerous individually formed brass birds positioned throughout the rays to create an extraordinary sense of movement and depth. The combination of copper, brass, dimensional birds, and linear sunburst elements gives the piece a wonderfully sculptural presence that changes dramatically depending on the light.
The hand-worked construction, varied patina, visible welds, and tonal variation throughout are characteristic of vintage metalwork from the Mid-Century era.
A particularly striking example of vintage sculptural wall decor, this piece would make an exceptional focal point above a console, credenza, fireplace, or in a collected Mid-Century Modern interior.
