Hand-marked b4/35 italy on the underside, the factory model code, in which the numeral corresponds to the height of the ceramic body.

each base is a cylindrical form in textured chamotte-type earthenware, finished in a chalk-white glaze of markedly coarse, granular character, and belted at the lower third by a band of brilliant turquoise inset with cobalt-blue discs. Each disc is framed by a finely incised ring, catching the light where the surrounding surface stays resolutely matte. The contrast between the raw mineral roughness of the white body and the glassy saturation of the blue is the whole appeal of the design, and it is exceptionally well judged here. Each base stands 35 cm high with a diameter of 13 cm; overall height to the top of the fitting is 44 cm.

both bases are in very good condition and in full working order, fitted with e27 screw sockets, standard european plugs, and an inline switch on the cord.
