The frame is composed of multiple engraved glass plaques with gadrooned, beaded, and lens-shaped motifs. The spandrels around the beveled glass are decorated with polychrome enamel paintings featuring acanthus leaves, scrolls, and flowers in shades of blue, orange, red, pink, and green. The upper ridge features molded and beveled glass scrolls and acanthus leaves above an oval enameled cartouche. Molded glass floral appliqués adorn the corners and the edge of the oval frame. Original raw wood back.

Good overall condition. Some pitting and slight wear to the silvering of the applied glass plaques at the bottom are characteristic of its age. A broken plaque has been repaired and is located in the lower right corner of the oval, with no missing pieces. No other significant restoration work has been carried out. This piece is 19th century and crafted in the Venetian tradition. See less
