An elegant 19th-century earthenware cachepot, made by Edmé Samson in Paris (1810-1891) and stamped on the base.
This beautiful piece features a rich polychrome decoration inspired by heraldry, with a coat of arms framed by winged creatures at its center, surrounded by delicate floral motifs. The painted decoration is complemented by fine white relief ornaments that add depth and refinement to the whole.
The edges are highlighted with gilt lines, while two small side handles complete the elegant silhouette of the cachepot.
Characteristic of the decorative production of the Samson firm in the 19th century, this piece reflects the period's taste for antique porcelain and earthenware and grand European designs.
This generously sized planter can accommodate a large plant or be displayed on its own as a decorative collector's item in a conservatory, winter garden, entryway, or classic interior.
Good overall condition considering its age. Stamped on the base.
