This exceptional living room set, consisting of two armchairs and one sofa, dates back to the 1920s, was manufactured in Czechoslovakia by UP Závody, and carries the artistic signature of the prominent designer Jindřich Halabala. The overall concept of this set stems from the aesthetic principles of Art Deco, which placed great emphasis on luxurious materials, refined lines, elegance, and perfect harmony with the representative lifestyle of that era. The framework of the furniture is made from a combination of beech and oak veneer, giving the set an unmistakable, highly elegant appearance. A prominent structural and artistic element is the traditional spring upholstery and professionally cleaned original upholstery fabric, which ensures maximum stability, comfort, and high user comfort, with the sofa additionally featuring practical storage space. The sophisticated shaping gives the entire piece an extraordinary visual dynamism and charm that meets the demands of first-class interior design. The items have undergone comprehensive, highly professional, and sensitively executed restoration care focused on addressing period wear while preserving maximum historical authenticity. During this process, the structure was thoroughly cleaned, structurally secured, and the wooden parts were treated using the revived polish method, thanks to which the surface regained its original luster and perfect protection. Thanks to these precise interventions, the living room set has been preserved in top technical condition, remaining sturdy, stable, and fully prepared for everyday use in any type of interior.
This harmonious set serves wonderfully not only as a fully functional and comfortable seating area, but also acts as a highly representative and aesthetically valuable solitaire. It will find its application in luxurious living rooms, stylish studies, or representative parlors, where it will reliably capture attention with its pure form and First Republic charm. It represents an ideal choice for lovers of quality interwar design who will find in it a perfect symbiosis of master craftsmanship, functionality, and timelessness.
