A striking vintage Phil-Mar swordfish TV lamp in a deep glossy green ceramic glaze, dating to the Mid-Century Modern era.
This sculptural lamp features a dramatically stylized leaping swordfish emerging from an undulating aquatic base, with beautifully molded fins, scales, waves, and organic details throughout. The rich green glaze gives the piece a wonderfully saturated jewel-like appearance while emphasizing the dimensional sculptural form.
Originally designed as a TV lamp, this type of accent light was intended to provide a soft glow behind or beside the television while adding a decorative sculptural element to the room.
The swordfish design is documented in vintage Phil-Mar references as a Phil-Mar Swordfish lamp, making this an especially appealing piece for collectors of vintage TV lamps, Mid-Century Modern ceramics, and sculptural lighting.
A fantastic statement accent for a Mid-Century Modern, Atomic Age, nautical, coastal, or eclectic interior.
