The elongated, gently curved form is finished in a deep black glaze accented by an expressive red abstract linear and splatter decoration. Its irregular sculptural rim and sweeping biomorphic silhouette embody the experimental character of Canadian mid-century ceramics. The dramatic black-and-red palette gives the piece a particularly graphic presence, making it equally effective as a centerpiece, console accessory, or standalone sculptural object. See less
