Documented in the original Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik catalogue from 1950 as model no. 15479. The catalogue specifies the lamp with matte-brushed brass, a green-lacquered metal shade and a mahogany column. This exceptional and monumental table lamp, designed by Harald Notini for Böhlmarks during the 1950s, is a striking example of Scandinavian lighting at its most refined. Distinguished by its elegant proportions and sculptural silhouette, the lamp combines a beautifully brushed brass column with a richly grained solid mahogany base, creating a sophisticated interplay between warm metal and natural wood.
Harald Notini remains one of the most celebrated lighting designers of the Swedish Modern period. As artistic director and chief designer for Böhlmarks, he was responsible for some of the firm’s most iconic models, renowned for their timeless elegance, architectural balance, and exceptional craftsmanship. His lighting designs continue to be highly sought after by collectors, interior designers, and discerning private clients worldwide.
This lamp perfectly reflects Notini’s philosophy of understated luxury. The clean vertical lines, carefully proportioned brass details, and substantial scale allow it to function both as an atmospheric light source and as a sculptural statement piece. Its presence is equally compelling in a refined residential interior, a sophisticated hospitality project, or a curated designer space.
The original brushed brass has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, complementing the warm tone of the mahogany. Together, these authentic materials embody the enduring quality and craftsmanship associated with Böhlmarks during the golden era of Swedish design.
