Aluminium shades - Brass articulated arms - Takes 1x E27 fitting bulb - Designed by Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen - Danish ~ 1950s - 43cm tall x 26cm wide x 82cm deep Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen (1913–2004) was a prominent Danish lighting designer and manufacturer who heavily influenced the mid-century modern lighting movement during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Originally trained as an ornamental metalworker, he brought a deeply structural, experimental, and sculptural sensibility to Scandinavian illumination design. He began his career as an authorized blacksmith and artisan metalsmith. This gave him a profound, hands-on mastery over metals like copper, brass, and steel. It is widely believed that he conceptualised lighting for established legacy brands such as Fog & Mørup and Lyfa during the early 1950s.
