The style is clearly attributable to Tropical Modernism/Mid-Century Modernism, with influences from 1970s Italian design. The slender curve of the vertically slatted backrest and the hand-tied wicker joints are reminiscent of the famous Italian rattan and bamboo designs popular during that era (in the style of designers such as Tito Agnoli, Gabriella Crespi, or the Italian manufacturers of the heyday of rattan).
