A rustic, single-door corner cabinet with a gently curved (bow) front, retaining its original blue painted surface over an earlier ochre ground — worn through naturally with age and use rather than distressed. The demilune top is made of two joined boards, pegged with a hand-cut wooden dowel, and shows honest age cracking along the joint. The single paneled door is hung on a hand-forged wrought iron hinge with visible forge marks, and fitted with a turned wood knob.
Construction detail throughout — the wooden peg joinery, hand-forged hardware, and consistent, undisturbed aging to the back and underside — supports an 18th/19th century date rather than a later reproduction. Standing approximately 140 cm high.
Sold in honest, unrestored condition. Expected surface losses, paint wear, and age-related checking are visible and consistent with the piece’s history — original patina rather than a refinished surface.
