Swedish wall mirror by Hans-Agne Jakobsson, produced in Åhus, Sweden, and dated 1953.
This example is distinguished by its hand-signed decoration, marked “Lisa J 53” on the front, attributed to Lisa Jakobsson, the wife of Hans-Agne, and confirming the year of production.
The mirror features a softly contoured rectangular form with gently inward-curving sides, executed in black-lacquered wood. The frame is adorned with a repeating starburst motif in subdued tones, giving the piece a refined graphic character typical of early Swedish modern decorative design.
The combination of shaped frame and patterned surface creates a balanced interplay between form and ornament, allowing the piece to function equally as a mirror and as a decorative wall object.
The reverse retains the original Hans-Agne Jakobsson, Åhus label, supporting its authenticity.
Condition: very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age, including minor marks to the frame. The mirror glass remains in good condition. Ready to hang. This piece has an attribution mark,
