Originating from the skilled Kurdish weavers of Persia, these rugs are renowned for their distinctive geometric designs, rich palettes, and the enduring quality of their village weaving traditions. This versatile Kurdish rug features a captivating geometric pattern that unfolds gracefully across its field. The central design is defined by a striking series of seven small medallions arranged in a single column, creating a strong visual anchor. The main field itself presents a harmonious interplay of deep blue and warm rust colors, providing a rich and inviting backdrop for the intricate motifs. This rug's wonderful design is further enhanced by the expert use of natural vegetable dyes. These organic pigments not only provide brilliant, saturated colors but also develop a beautiful patina and subtle tonal variations (abrash) over time, a hallmark of authentic village weavings that only adds to their beauty and character. The entire composition is elegantly framed by multiple borders, each displaying their own beautiful colors and intricate geometric designs. These layered borders provide depth and sophistication, perfectly complementing the central field and completing this charming village carpet from the early 1900s.
