Hailing from the town of Joshegan, located southwest of Kashan, this rug is a masterpiece of traditional weaving, distinguished by its unique and highly sought-after design. This beautiful Joshegan rug features an all-over ""weeping willow"" pattern, a motif also known as the “Tree of Life”. This design consists of interconnected, sub-geometric forms, primarily diamond shapes, rendered in a repeating fashion across the entire field. The design is brought to life with a stunning color palette of vibrant red, serene French blue, deep dark blue, and touches of green, cream, and pink, creating a harmonious and visually complex tapestry. What makes this rug exceptionally rare and desirable is its luminous ivory color background, a backdrop not commonly found in Joshegan weavings.
