This rug is a prime example of Bidjar's reputation for great design and wonderful colors. It features a striking open-field design set against a rich carnelian red background. A central medallion in a deep navy blue with a classic Herati pattern provides a bold focal point. What truly sets this rug apart is the addition of a symmetric small medallion, featuring a fantastic design in a beautiful robin's egg blue background with accents of pink, yellow, and red. The corner spandrels mirror this unique color palette and design, creating a cohesive and captivating composition. The field is beautifully framed by an abrash robin's egg blue border, which features its own intricate designs in green, yellow, and pink. The term ""abrash"" refers to the subtle and charming color variations that result from the use of organic dyes, giving the rug a unique and authentic character. Bidjar rugs are famously known as ""The Iron Rugs of Persia"" due to their exceptionally tight weave and high knot count. This unique density is a result of a special weaving technique that creates a robust, enduring, and celebrated foundation.
