Executed in an Impressionist manner with expressive, heavily textured impasto brushwork, the composition features a soft, sophisticated palette of blue-gray, sage green, cream, taupe, muted gold and touches of warm coral. The restrained colors and atmospheric treatment give the painting an especially serene quality.

The work is signed at the lower right by an unidentified artist. Presented in a substantial vintage carved wood frame with a black and antiqued gold finish, gilt detailing and a neutral linen liner. The frame beautifully complements the muted tones of the painting and gives the piece considerable architectural presence.
