Own an authentic, premier piece of American design history with this magnificent art pottery jardinière from Roseville's legendary "Futura" line. Introduced in 1928 under the creative direction of Frank Ferrell, Futura stands as the company's most avant-garde achievement, capturing the absolute zenith of the global Art Deco movement. This multi-sided, sharply angled geometric planter features a striking, stylized relief pattern of cascading autumn leaves glazed in delicate pastel shades of sky blue, lavender, sage green, and soft tan. The graphic floral motifs pop beautifully against a rich matte terracotta-orange background.True to the initial 1928 production run, this piece was issued unmarked, originally bearing only a foil paper label that has washed away over the last century. The proportions match Roseville's factory shape 616-7 seamlessly, boasting bold architectural handles and a tiered pedestal base. A spectacular, investment-grade focal point for any Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, or eclectic interior.

The top rim, geometric handles, and visible body panels are beautifully preserved with vibrant glaze colors. The unexposed underside of the base displays typical age-appropriate characteristics common to century-old pottery. Glaze Crazing: A widespread network of fine, tight micro-crazing lines contained entirely within the top glass-like glaze layer. Darker Crazing Line: There is a prominent branching glaze line visible on the underside base. Please note this is a surface glaze craze line and NOT a structural crack—it is completely smooth to the touch, does not penetrate into the white clay body, and has simply darkened slightly over the decades by absorbing moisture and organic matter. Factory Marks: The base exhibits three small, raised circular glaze drops and stilt markings from the original 1928 factory kiln firing. less
