A striking pair of 1961 companion portraits on dark velvet, depicting an older man and woman, possibly husband and wife. Rich reds, golds, and silvery tones emerge beautifully against the deep background, giving the portraits a dramatic, collected feel.
Signed Crispin Agno and inscribed Manila ’61. Agno was a Filipino painter associated with Manila’s mid-century Mabini art scene, known for expressive figurative and portrait works.
