A vintage Italian tole oval cachepot jardiniere in the classic Florentine style. Hand-painted in a deep, faux-marbled forest green with a striking red scalloped edge. The body is decorated on both sides with finely detailed gilt motifs - on one side a golden bow and floral swags, on the other a fruit-filled urn surrounded by scrolling acanthus and wheat. The real showstopper is the pair of sculptural branch-form handles, each ending in a gilded leafy flourish where it meets the body. Features a crimped, scalloped rim, red pinstripe at the base. Interior is solid forest green.
Perfect as a planter (use with a liner), for a lush orchid arrangement, as a champagne or wine chiller for the holidays, or as a statement centerpiece on its own.
