The planter is ornamented with continuous festoons of draped foliage and floral elements, bow-tied botanical details, and stylized anthropomorphic mascarons with prominent brows and expressive, smiling faces. The mask motifs are evocative of classical apotropaic masks and architectural ornament, lending the planter a sculptural presence. A geometric palmette motif encircles the lower rim.

The authentic circular “Bitossi Italy” factory stamp is impressed into the clay wall.

With its generous 19-inch diameter, this substantial planter is suited to a large specimen plant or small tree and makes an impressive architectural accent for a terrace, conservatory, garden, entryway, or interior setting.

A central drainage hole is present.
