Built to outfit a passenger steam … Read more This table was built in Cleveland circa 1895 byThe Marble & Shattuck Chair Company. Built to outfit a passenger steam ship for The Cleveland & Buffalo Transit Company. When the steamships slowed down, it was sold by auction to the Beaux Arts Hollenden Hotel, a famous establishment that defied prohibition.
It was then sold some years later in a public auction and was taken to London ON where it was housed privately for many years, and later stored in a barn (there are teeth marks from horses on inside framing). Was purchased online in 2012 and now is in Saskatchewan.

1/4 sawn Oak edges, 4 dovetail burled walnut drawers with glass pulls containg card and chip compartments of solid wood. Beautiful pedestal. Brass inlaid casters in feet.
Includes 4 ladder back chairs from same period.

Needs some TLC, BUT you won't find many like it. See less
