A magnificent, hand-decorated ceramic sculpture of the Madonna. Made by Lenci of Turin, Italy, it is signed under the base with the manufacturer's mark and the original cartouche. The bust is listed in the Lenci general catalog. It is a wonderful size and beautiful artistic quality. The Madonna is depicted in thoughtful. The enamels used are of the highest quality, and the vibrant colors have maintained their brightness over the years.
Lenci is one of Italy's most important and respected manufacturers of fine ceramics. The company was founded in 1919 by a husband and wife team and survived until 2001. Their creations from the mid 20th century are some of the most sought after ceramics among collectors.
