Mirror No. 6 is a large-scale reflective wall object designed by Chris Delmar. Rather than functioning as a conventional mirror, the piece is composed of multiple angled mirrored planes, each oriented toward a different portion of the surrounding space.
As the viewer moves through the room, the individual planes behave as separate fields of view, picking up fragments of architecture, floor, ceiling, light, surrounding objects, and the viewer. These reflections shift independently from plane to plane, continuously reorganizing the composition across the surface. Although the object itself is stationary, the visual experience is highly active and changes with both the viewer’s position and the environment around it. For this reason, the work is experienced substantially differently in motion than it can be represented in still photograph.
The piece measures 60 inches wide by 40 inches high and projects approximately 10 inches from the wall. It is constructed with mirror glass mounted to a surfaced glass fiber–reinforced stone composite body.
Fabricated by Studio Delmar. Professional installation is recommended. Mounting hardware and installation instructions are provided.
Dimensions: 40 H × 60 W × 10 D in.
Weight: approximately 28 lbs.
Note: Object is shown in digitally rendered environment to illustrate scale and appearance in a room.
