Standing an impressive 28.25 inches tall, each candlestick is designed with a long fluted column accented by classical urn-form details and topped with a substantial 4.5-inch-wide candle cup with a decorative ribbed edge.

The sculptural tripartite bases are especially distinctive, featuring raised oval medallions, finely cast scrolling ornament and paw-form feet. Measuring approximately 8 inches across at the widest point, the bases give the tall, slender candlesticks a commanding architectural presence.

The metal surfaces have developed a wonderful time-worn finish with warm aged brass and bronze tones, darker oxidation and areas of natural green verdigris. The patina has been intentionally left intact rather than polished, preserving the character and visual depth of the pair.

Beautiful displayed on a fireplace mantel, console, dining table or flanking a large mirror or artwork, these substantial candlesticks work especially well in Neoclassical, Empire, traditional European, Grand Tour and collected interiors.

No visible maker’s mark has been identified, and the exact maker and country of origin are unknown.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear throughout, including oxidation, patination, verdigris, discoloration, rubbing and minor marks consistent with age and use. The aged surface has not been polished or restored and is considered an integral part of the character of the pieces. Please review photographs closely for condition.
