A large vintage equestrian lithographic print titled “Run to Earth,” after the work of noted British sporting artist Heywood Hardy (1842–1933).
This richly detailed English hunting scene depicts mounted riders and a large gathering of hounds within a wooded landscape. The composition’s chestnut and white horses, traditional red hunting coats, female rider in blue, and atmospheric woodland setting capture the pageantry and timeless character associated with classic British sporting art.
The print is professionally framed beneath glass with a wide cream-colored mat. A substantial wood-tone frame is embellished with an ornate gold-tone foliate border, creating an elegant presentation ideally suited to an English country, traditional, equestrian, library, study, office, or collected gallery-wall interior.
The printed title “Run to Earth” appears beneath the image. At 38 inches wide, this is a generously scaled decorative piece with considerable presence. It weighs approximately 14.4 pounds and is fitted with hanging wire and additional hanging hardware on the reverse.
This is a vintage lithographic reproduction after Heywood Hardy's original 19th-century work.
CONDITION
Very good vintage condition. The print remains vibrant and attractive beneath glass, with appealing softly muted color and clearly rendered details. The cream-colored mat presents well overall. The professionally constructed wood-tone and gold-tone frame displays age-appropriate surface wear.
The brown dust covering on the reverse shows wrinkling, scattered tears and losses, and areas of discoloration. These issues affect the rear covering and are not visible when the artwork is displayed. Hanging wire and additional hardware remain attached. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
