The composition has a pastoral, harvest-like quality, with an expressive sculptural surface defined by extensive hand-worked-looking incised texture.

The plaque is finished in a layered gray-green metallic tone that gives it the appearance of aged metal while emphasizing the considerable depth and detail of the relief. An indistinct molded signature or artist's mark is visible near the lower portion of the composition, but the maker has not been conclusively identified.
