The lamp belongs to henningsen's legendary three-shade lighting system, originally developed to create completely glare-free illumination with beautifully balanced light distribution. The ph 4½-4 version in its current form was introduced in 1980. Its hand-blown three-layer opal glass shades feature a glossy exterior and sandblasted matte interior, directing most of the light downward while softly illuminating the surrounding space. This carefully engineered system creates warm, comfortable lighting that has made ph lamps design icons for decades. A timeless scandinavian classic, equally suited to dining rooms, living spaces and refined contemporary interiors.
