Salcia Bahnc (1896-1979) was born in Poland and immigrated to the US at a young age. As a teenager, she would take night classes for drawing at the Art Institute of Chicago and around the age of 19 broke out into the art world doing fashion drawings. Bahnc led a decades long career in art, being shown all over the US and even having a show of her own in Paris, France.
