Known as the Bibambola, the two-seat version is part of the celebrated Le Bambole collection, one of the most influential upholstered furniture designs of the 1970s. Introduced in 1972, the collection marked a radical departure from conventional sofa construction by eliminating any visible frame and allowing the upholstery and internal padding to define the form entirely. The result is a soft, sculptural silhouette that combines exceptional comfort with an unmistakable visual identity.

Le Bambole quickly became one of Mario Bellini's most iconic creations and was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1979, establishing itself as a milestone in the history of Italian design. Its innovative approach to upholstery and ergonomics continues to make it one of the most recognizable seating systems ever produced by B&B Italia.

This sofa has been fully restored in Italy by our workshop and newly upholstered in high-quality light grey cotton canvas, made in Italy. The internal foam has been carefully reconditioned and rebuilt where necessary to restore the original support and seating comfort, eliminating the collapsed appearance often found in vintage examples. The dacron fiberfill layer between the foam and the upholstery has been completely replaced, while the original jute base has been preserved to maintain the authenticity of the construction.
