Substantial wheel-thrown studio pottery amphora urn vase featuring dramatic saggar and pit firing.
Exhibits a burnished terra sigillata surface with atmospheric carbon trapping, deep matte black reduction, copper fumed burgundy and rose blush, and rust iron oxide mottling. An exceptional statement piece and centerpiece profile suited for Organic Modern, Wabi-Sabi, Brutalist, Postmodern, or Mid-Century Modern spaces. The refined wall balance, classic amphora proportions, and advanced vapor control reflect the work of a skilled American studio craft ceramicist from the late 20th century studio pottery movement.
