Vintage c. 1980s large wood storage chest with substantial plank-and-panel construction and a warm aged finish. Likely southern yellow pine or Douglas fir. Its cargo/crate-inspired form offers generous storage while functioning beautifully as a blanket chest, coffee table, end-of-bed trunk or general household storage. The hinged lid opens to a large unfinished wood interior. Storage chests descend from centuries-old blanket-box furniture, once essential for storing household textiles. Maker and exact place of manufacture are unknown.
