Restored vintage Norwegian three-seat leather and rosewood sofa designed by Fredrik A. Kayser for Vatne Møbler, circa 1964. The Model 965 features Kayser’s distinctive sculptural arm profile, loose seat and back cushions, and an exposed rosewood base with side stretchers.
This remarkable example has been professionally restored and upholstered in smooth black semi-aniline leather from Sweden, chosen to preserve the original character of the design while giving the sofa a clean, tailored presentation. The rosewood frame has been cleaned and finished to highlight the warm tone and grain of the wood.
A strong example of mid-century Norwegian seating, with a refined profile that works well in both modern and vintage interiors. No maker's mark present.
